Retail Therapy

Whoops. Been neglecting this blog for way too long. Not my fault I'm so well in demand ( puke ) I just made myself sound like a hooker. Moving on... I'm gonna blog about my Singapore trip-! Jakun sial but yeah I haven't been there in a decade, maybe longer. And for those of you who asked... Yes, I did spend most of my time there alone because dad was on a business trip and he even thought that little ol' me tagging along was a burden.

Breakfast at Skypark Terminal after checking in dad's luggage while I had to carry my duffel bag urgh heavy can. 2 sets of half boiled eggs + toast + teh ais = RM21. Crazy or not? Something really embarrassing happened to me at the Kopitiam but... Heh shall probe no further on the subject.

Budget airplanes are THE way to travel man-! It's still comfy although it's small and I even think that the air stewardess are friendlier-! Not so cocky laa at least. Round trip costs about RM489++ if you book online and RM500++ if you purchase the tickets at the counter. Mad cheap. And the planes arrives and departs on time-! Unlike MAS which is always half an hour late... From what I've experienced laa.

Arrived at Changi airport at about 10.30am. Airport is nothing to boast about because... We landed at the budget terminal lol. Got a cab and straight went to our hotel. OMG Singapore's taxi drivers are like the friendliest people ever-! But then again, any taxi driver who's non Malaysian is definitely better and friendlier. In less than half an hour, I knew where our cab driver was from, how many kids he has, how long has he lived in Singapore and yada yada.

And as embarrassing as it is for me to say this, although I don't know how big the Eye Of Malaysia is, I bet it can't beat Singapore Flyer because it's huge eh?! And I seriously can't imagine of big the one in London is-! It must be big ass.

The view from my hotel room. It's quite a distance from Orchard Road, which has been my life savour the whole time I've been in Singapore. Heh hence the title Retail Therapy <3
Dad granted enough time to spend lunch time with me before he has to rush off to work. Had lunch at this mad awesome Chinese restaurant at ION mall. Can you imagine if those bamboo deco hanging on the ceiling were those sharp-icicles-of-death? Shudders.

Xiao long pao beats Dragon-i's one anytime because it's stuffed with not only pork, but spicy chili crab meat as well-! I dare say it's even better than China's one ladida.

Dad's beef noodles which gave him a mighty huge thirst after drinking all that soup. If given the choice, which type of meat would you give up... Chicken, beef or pork?

My crispy chicken prawn pancake. I don't even think there was chicken inside it, didn't tasted any. But it was still nice though.

Hear hear.

Browsed around a few shopping malls by myself after lunch. It's impossible for me to shop by myself because I really depend on other people's opinion about certain stuff. That and I tend to buy every thing I like XD.

Weather at Singapore was mad hot and I was wearing 2 layers owh gawd. I didn't have the chance to walk into Takashimaya and all those other fancy places because all of their stores in front are like Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana and was dressed like... A typical tourist-! Sneakers, tank top and shorts gah. What a waste =(

Singapore is such an interesting place hardiharhar.

After 3 hours of roaming Orchard Road alone like an idiot, I decided to head back to the hotel because I was dying of thirst ( not that I'm kiamsiap or anything. but the drinks in the minibar back in the hotel were complimentary hee ) and it's really boring walking around alone.

The walk back to the hotel was endless-!! Street was damn quiet plus it was mad hot-! And I'm curious to know, is the crime rate in Singapore as high as Malaysia? Harhar stupid question.

The hotel that I stayed at. Both my room neighbours were Indonesians. Infact, I think the whole hotel was occupied with Indonesians-! Not that I have anything against them laa haiyohh. Turns out that they're having holidays and it seems that a lot choose to have their annual medical check up at Singapore. And here's a bonus, Mount Elizabeth Hospital is located not far from the hotel which I stayed at. Awesome.

I bought a thriller book and 4 Archie Double Digest comic books for 18SGD-! Mad cheap weih. An archie comic would cost around RM11 in M'sia by the way. And Cotton On was having sales-! Nothing was above 50SGD... So it was said on their signs XD

Dad like kesian me because i'm spending my holidays there alone so he came back early from work and decided to take me to Night Safari. Huge sacrifice if you ask me because he was like dead tired due to sleep deprivation the night before and this was his 2nd trip there.

Stopped by Singapore flyer for like a few minutes because we had to switch bus's. I'm gonna dedicate all of the photo's I took of the Ferris wheel in one post because, it's just too awesome =)

And we finally reached like after 45 freaking minutes-! Urgh it was such a crazy long bus ride man. Owh FYI, the lousiest car I saw there was a Myvi.... MYVI HELLO-!

Just so you know I WASN'T POSING-! I was like dunno doing what with my hair while waiting to board the tram when my dad suddenly went "say cheese-!". Harhar my dad.

I was sooo totally expecting to see lions or whatever humping on each other because that was what my family saw during their last trip there. But alaa nothing exciting also. Hey, you gotta love em hippos =)
Having dinner there was nuts because my dinner alone cost's 17SGD, for roasted duck roasted duck fats and wantan noodles. FMDL because he had to pay so much.

Yeah huh don't let them juicy colours fool you. The noodles were pretty much tasteless and majority of the duck were like fats. Pfft.

Dad <3>
Fire show was damn pro. Bet Nic would have had fun seeing a bunch of half naked men running around breathing flames no? Harhar =)

2nd day was so much better because I had Michelle to accompany me the whole day-! Had breakfast in the hotel because by the time I woke up dad had already left for work. So when the staff asked who I'll be joining, I said owh no, I'm alone. Her expression was like, stun and "huh alone?" because the whole place was full then suddenly there's me... Alone. Lol.

Harhar poor little guy. Met up with Michelle at 11.45am. Our goal was to shop-! Well, more like my goal. We finally settled at 313 because I knew Cotton On and Forever 21 was there. Bought a ginormous pair of white sunnies at Cotton On and ALMOST bought Car Yi's kung fu shoes. But I promised... No more shoes for this whole year. Grr temptation...

They've occupied 4 freaking floors man can you imagine?! Kay I gotta admit, I don't really fancy the clothes there because it looks cheap but their accessories are ooh-la-la harhar.

Ooooo omg so cute. Michelle and I were like... Lol forget it too embarassing.

Bought Sis a Mexico jersey for 99SGD. Cheaper by RM30 laa. Look-! It's Ping Er's eggplants-!

Went to food republic for lunch. I like the one at Pavilion better though... Just saying XD
Time to be jakun again. In case you're wondering what's that for, she's actually selling drinks around the food court. Perfect for lazy ass people like me man. And I actually thought that she was going around cleaning up rubbish from tables harhar.

My lunch that costs 2SGD. Even if I convert it, it's still much more expensive. Yes I'm very calculative.
I would so totally take uo mah jong with my mum if only I get to play with Hello Kitty tiles-! Seriously thought of buying it back for my mum. But then I thought, my mum and her mah jong kaki's would be too embarassed to play with it.
Went to Orchard Central Mall next. The place is so damn deserted and the set up of the mall is just plain... Weird. Whatever... Camwhore-!
Owh look a statue-! But wait... Look closer.

HAHAHAHAHAHA. So small. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Don't judge me.
I got persuaded to buy this mud mask for 75SGD. Original price was 100SGD. For that, the staff threw in an acne soap for free. And after that... I got persuaded ( harhar yes again ) to buy this foaming scrub for 35SGD. Original price was 80SGD. Eheh lucky me =)

Bought a bag from Charles & Keith! ( yes another one couldn't help it so sue me ). And the story behind how I got that bag is quite a mouthful.

It was love at first sight as soon as I laid my eyes on it Was deciding on whether or not I should buy it because (1) Do I really need another bag? and (2) Quite pricey but still cheaper than M'sia. So in the end I decided to go for it because after this one I promised Michelle no more bags for the year.

Then picking the colour was crucial-! Black or cream? I already have quite a number of white bags so I thought I'd get black because it looks rocker chic. But Michelle said cream was classier. So the both of us were practically stoning at the bags. Then this lady beside us went "The trend nowadays is huge bags huh". Duh we got so many rubbish to stuff into our bags right. So i asked her "Which colour do you think is nicer? Black or cream?" harhar yes I asked a complete stranger on what colour should I pick. Surprise surprise, she went "Hmm, depends on the colour of your shoes."

Whoa shit that serious ke?! But true enough, she bought 3 pairs of shoes later on.

So black it is-! But alas, they ran out of black and the only one left was the one on display. Now I don't really mind that the bag has been on display before, but the fact that so many grubby hands have touched it, yeah THAT I mind. After a few calls to other outlets, the only one that had my bag was at Plaza Singapore, which was like 2 stops away and I had to use the MRT.

Whatever, it was worth it. Even if i meant almost getting the lost at the station... Totally worth it. Luckily for Michelle or else I wouldn't even have dared to take public transport and the vision of me getting my bag would just go *poof*.

The stash =)

Michelle and I parted our ways at 6pm. Again, thank you so much for temaning me-! And I seriously meant it when I say you're the best shopping partner ever love love.

Went to the airport ALONE the next day because once again, dad had to go to work and will only be taking an afternoon flight. It wasn't until now I know that my dad has a really sad and lonely travelling life. He travles alone maybe twice in a month for 3 to 4 days at a time. But yet when there's me to accompany him he says I'm a burded. Like what?!

Ahh well lazy to blog about my Genting trip with Wen Yi, Ariel and Janice. Another time maybe. Till then...

P.s : Hey you =)
